Direct cremation is the simplest way to arrange a cremation. It still deserves the same care as any service we provide. Call any hour, day or night: (718) 424-2000. A member of the Guida family or our staff will answer.
What is direct cremation?
Direct cremation, sometimes called immediate or simple cremation, means cremation takes place soon after death, without a viewing or funeral service beforehand. There’s no ceremony required at the time of cremation. Many families choose it because it’s simple, and because it lets them hold a memorial later, when everyone can be there.
What we take care of
- Bringing your loved one into our care, at any hour
- Permits and death certificates
- Arranging the cremation with a licensed crematory
- Returning the cremated remains to your family
- Helping you choose an urn, if you’d like one
Saying goodbye your way
If you can, we gently suggest a brief private viewing for close family before the cremation. Seeing your loved one one last time can help with grief. Afterwards, you can hold a memorial service whenever your family is ready: at your church, at our funeral home, or somewhere that meant something to the person you’ve lost.
