Elisa Velazquez

Elisa Velazquez, known to her granddaughters and close relatives as Mama, was born in Sabana Grande, Puerto Rico to Miguel Velazquez and Paula Gonzalez. She married Hector Luis García and moved to New York shortly after to establish roots and build a family. Elisa will forever be remembered for her devotion to her family members, friends and God, love for animals of all types, and obsession with pizza. She always dressed to impress, often in bright pinks and reds. She is survived and missed by many relatives including her son, Hector “Willie” García and his wife, Judith, her granddaughters Lizzy and Cathy and Cathy’s husband, Anthony, as well as her siblings, Dalia, Tito, and Reina. She is predeceased by her sister, Julia and husband, Hector.
