Juana Serrano

Passed on December 9, 2023

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Juana Serrano, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who peacefully left this world on December 9, 2023, at the age of 91, in Oakland Gardens. She had bravely battled heart failure for an extended period, demonstrating her unwavering strength and determination until the end.

Born on August 16, 1932, in Orocovis, Puerto Rico, Juana was the cherished daughter of Modesto and Maria Serrano. Tragically, she experienced the profound loss of her parents and brother during her lifetime, a burden she carried with grace and resilience.

Juana is survived by her loving children: William, Diana, Violeta, Irma, Rafael, and Juanita. Her legacy lives on through the 18 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild she leaves behind, a testament to her enduring impact on the generations that followed her.

Juana displayed unwavering strength and determination throughout her life, facing adversity with the courage of a Leo wrapped up in a tiny package of 5 feet. She carried the weight of her early losses with such resolve and strength. Today, she embarks on a journey to shores beyond sight, a voyage that reunites her with her parents and older brother, Fernando.

As we say our farewells, we take solace in knowing that Juana is finally free from pain and is peacefully drifting toward her eternal home, where she can find the rest she so richly deserves. She will forever remain in our hearts as a symbol of strength, love, and the enduring spirit of a mother and grandmother who touched our lives with her presence.

May Juana Serrano's soul find the tranquility and serenity she sought in her voyage to the beyond. In our hearts, her memory will forever linger, and her legacy will continue to shine brightly through the lives of her beloved family.
