Idania McField

Passed on December 9, 2023

Idania McField, known as Viola Aelia Yvonne McField Fajardo, was born on November 24, 1940 in Olanchito Yoro, Honduras, Central America. She came to this country in her early twenties where she met and fell in love with Constinee Simons, Jr. Their union produced two children: Ernie and Carla.
After arriving in the United States in 1960, she spent most of her working years with the New York City Housing Authority, retiring after many years in 2016.
Idania is predeceased by her husband Constinee, her father Thomas Jefferson McField Bodden, her mother Maria de Los Angeles Fajardo Aguirre Rios and her sisters Sandra Azucena McField Fajardo Garcia and Vanina Rios Fajardo Mort. She has left behind to cherish her loving memory her two children, four grandchildren: Ernie Simons, Jr., Karlo, Lorna and Tatiana, daughters-in-law Crystal Matos and Felicia Simons, eight great-grandchildren, two beloved sisters, Norie Lorean McField Fajardo and Nelia Leonor McField Fajardo McMillan and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She loved art and fashion, but music and dancing were her life. Idania was very disciplined and loved her family very much. She was respected by all. She was a very free-spirited woman who loved to explore. She would often leave her home, get on a bus or train and ride to an unknown destination in New York City just for the fun of it.
Idania had a presence about her and will be greatly missed by her family.
