Annunziata Laucella
Passed on December 28, 2022
I’m not one to post and do my best to respect my grandma’s privacy. But when you lose greatness the world needs to know. Nanny please forgive me but I need to share this. On December 28th, along side my aunt and myself, my Nanny (grandmother) made her way to heaven. Nanny know everyone you met fell in love with you. The kindness and selflessness you showed people will be unmatched. For that, no man or woman will compare to you. Our family would be nothing if not for you.
A Greek proverb says, ”Trees and children/grandchildren both need deep roots if they are to grow strong and sturdy enough to thrive and bear fruit in the midst life’s storms.” The roots you created for us have given us/me the tools to take on the world. You have shown me how to be strong and independent, how to lead with kindness, and most importantly family/togetherness. Even in your final days, with little strength you had, you made it a point to put Aunt Fran and my hand together to emphasize togetherness. Don’t worry I will keep my promise to you and stick together. I will miss your silliness, your sense of humor, and your stories. Thank for being my grandma and accepting me for me and for also welcoming Joe as one of your grandchildren.
P.S. While summer night’s will seem strange at first. We’ll continue the tradition by hanging on the porch drinking ice coffee with yummy snacks and talking nonsense and of course people watching.
P.P.S. Also, don’t forget to tell Poppy thank you for me. If not for him I would never have had you in my life. I love you 😘❤️ 💔
