Giulio Zeni

Passed on April 28, 2024

Giulio Zeni, 76, of Ridgewood, Queens, NY passed away on April 28, 2024, after a short time with liver cancer. He was born in the small village of Spormaggiore, Italy on February 23, 1948, to Luigi and Giulietta Zeni. The family then migrated to Brooklyn, NY in 1959.
Giulio served in the U.S. Army and was a proud Vietnam War veteran. After his service, he co-owned and ran Rocco’s Pizzeria in Brooklyn for over thirty years. He was easygoing, sociable and had a lot of good friends. Giulio was at his happiest when he was cooking and barbecuing for family and friends. He was also a chess enthusiast who often honed his skills competing against an electronic chess board. In addition, Giulio was passionate about history! He read countless books and watched numerous documentaries about the subject. And as an avid soccer fan, he was thrilled when Italy won the World Cup in 2006.
Giulio was predeceased by his wife, Maria “Monica” Zeni. He is survived by stepson Jose Lujambio (Lorena) and grandchildren Daniella and Adrian Lujambio, his daughter Stephanie Zeni and son Matthew Zeni, the children of Verki Rodriguez. Also survived by his brother Franco Zeni and sister Anna Maria Zeni (Roger). He will also be greatly missed by his home attendant Carmen Delia Rodriguez!
Giulio will receive Military Honors at the funeral services at Cypress Hills Cemetery.
Donations may be made to The American Liver Foundation.
