Gerardo Delligatti
Passed on November 13, 2025
Gerardo "Jerry" Delligatti, 81, of Franklin Square, New York, passed away peacefully on
November 13, 2025. He was born on August 13, 1944, in Nusco, Italy. Jerry’s life was a
testament to hard work and devotion to family. Everyone who crossed his path emerged better
for having known him.
Jerry immigrated to the United States and built a life rooted in dedication and integrity. He spent
over five decades as a proud member of Local 731 Laborers Union, where he worked as a
construction supervisor. His commitment to his craft and his union brothers was unwavering- a
reflection of his strong work ethic and loyalty.
At the heart of Jerry’s life was his beloved wife, Angela Delligatti. Together they raised three
children: Lori Delligatti (Michael), Tami Mele (John), and John Delligatti (Margaret). Jerry’s love
for his family extended deeply to his grandchildren - Koral Heiseler (Raphael), Heather Heiseler
(Cameron), Erich Heiseler, Jessica Mele, Gianna Mele, Christopher Mele, Alexandria Delligatti,
and Gerardo Delligatti- and to his great-granddaughters Nora Abreu and Ava Abreu. His home
was always open and filled with warmth for those he loved.
Jerry is also remembered by his siblings Maria Perna, Elaine Delligatti, and Salvatore Delligatti.
He now joins in eternal rest his parents, John and Josephine Delligatti; and siblings Carmela
Prudente, Amato Delligatti, and Alby Finestone.
A man of many passions, Jerry found joy in hunting and fishing- often returning with stories as
rich as the catch itself. He enjoyed bowling nights and card games with friends and the thrill of
an energetic craps table. His green thumb brought beauty to every garden he tended, while his
carpentry skills left behind lasting works crafted with care. In the kitchen, Jerry’s cooking brought
people together- his meals were made with love and shared generously.
More than anything else, Jerry will be remembered as a pillar of unconditional love and
unwavering strength. Family was always his top priority. Whether offering guidance or lending a
helping hand without hesitation, he embodied kindness with a heart of gold. Revered by all who
knew him, Jerry leaves behind a legacy of compassion that will continue to inspire generations.
May the memory of Gerardo “Jerry” Delligatti bring comfort to those who knew him and serve as
